Knowledgepool is looking to gather information for a provider to deliver Legal input to Multi Agency Gold Incident Command Course (MAGIC)
We require an expert resource (see below) to deliver legal input and knowledge to the course, developing the delegates’ knowledge of their in-event and post-event priorities so that they;
• have a greater understanding and awareness of the legal aspects of carrying out the role of a Strategic (Gold) Commander.
• are clear on the importance of decision logging and the way in which decisions should be recorded to prepare Gold commanders for possible future inquiries.
• are clear on what the experience of attending a public inquiry will entail, and the demands that will be made of them.
The resource must be a qualified legal professional who is currently operating as a barrister / legal advocate in the UK. This legal professional must have a thorough understanding of the tri-service emergency services, category 1 or category 2 responders emergency response systems and processors.
Applicant must have a thorough understanding of emergency response to emergencies and major incidents, legal responsibilities of strategic commanders leading the response. A proven ability to delivery training to strategic leaders and field questions from such leaders.
The individual is required to have a thorough understanding, working knowledge and application of the Civil Contingencies Act & HMG Emergency Response and Recovery. Applicant should have a thorough knowledge of legal cases and process for major incidents over the last 30 years, for example; Hillsborough, Cumbria shootings, 7/7, Manchester Arena attack, Grenfell and multiple terror attacks on London.

We anticipate that the RFQ documents will be available on 07/05/2021 and Bidders will be notified when these have been released.
